For six of my nearly forty years on this planet I have been carefully sourcing speciality food from Spain and selling my selections online, at food festivals and to other delicatessens. The rest of those nearly forty years I’ve simply been enjoying the food in the countless tapas bars, restaurants and homes when I visit my family and friends in Almeria in southern Spain, and then back in the UK when all the products, recipes and stories I pick up get foisted on friends and family here.

I first fell in love with one of the very finest estate picual extra virgin olive oils produced in the semi-desert of Almeria where my paternal family originates; now I stock oils of different varietials from all over Spain. After more careful sourcing came the fine Torres wine vinegars from Catalonia and balsamic vinegars from Cordoba, a varied selection of olives, seafood and vegetable antipasti, Valencian paella rice, a mix of Spanish spices and Andalucian charcuterie. In 2012 my high-quality range of paella pans, ingredients and paella-making kits are becoming Idelica’s most popular purchases.

The foods I sell are special and in themselves make lovely presents. I aim to make it as easy and energy-saving for online shoppers to make their purchase a gift. On each product page there is a box for you to type a message for me to attach to your product on an attractive hand-written paper label, at no extra cost. The item (or items) can then be delivered directly to your recipient at the delivery address you input at the checkout.
